As we were going for our walk on the deck this morning, our position was roughly off the Western Point of Cuba. We have been travelling South West since leaving Key West, and once we cleared Cuba, we turned South East, towards the Cayman Islands.
Our next destination is Grand Cayman, where we will spend a day ashore at Georgetown tomorrow. We will not arrive until tomorrow morning, so today is an at sea day.
It is now getting hot and humid, high 20’s, and the occasionally rain squall, but generally quite pleasant. We only had a few periods of light rain today, despite a
Forecast that was much worse, so lets hope tomorrow is fine.
The ship has been making way slowly since leaving Key West, mostly only doing around 12 – 13 knots, obviously to meet schedules arrivals etc.
It has been a lazy day, with a few lectures on what to expect at the next few destinations.
We have now received official notification from HAL resolving our compensation claim for the cancellation of the first 7 days of the trip, and whilst it doesn’t replace the part of the trip we were really looking forward to, it covers a good deal of our expenses for that weeks delay.
The highlight was lobster for dinner !!
