Today we are at sea, and by 9.30am, are adjacent the southern tip of the Baja Peninsular. We are close to the coast, with good visability, and there is a sizeable settlement at Cabo San Lucas, right on the tip of the peninsula.
It is a very pleasant day with temperatures in the mid 20’s C, slight seas and a 15 to 20 knot breeze from the NW. We see a number of whales as we head up the coast, and in the afternoon, we saw about 70 yachts sailing south in beautiful conditions, some with spinnakers set. I somehow recall there is a race from San Diego to Puerto Vallarta at about this time of the year, and this may be it. Anyway it keeps us entertained for an hour or so as we pass the fleet.
There are a number of small fishing boats, and a few trawlers out also, and land stays in sight for the whole day.
7th November 2014
At sea again, and another beautiful day at sea. By midday we are adjacent Isla Cedro, and not long after lose sight of land as we head further off the coast.
Another cruise liner is running a bit faster than us and closer to the coast, it looks like a Celebrity Cruise. We should arrive in San Diego and disembark tomorrow morning.
It was a pretty lazy day on board with most people trying to work out how they could fit all of their purchases throughout the cruise into their luggage. They had a $20,000 jackpot bingo game in the afternoon, so the girls thought they would give it a go.
Carole did very well, coming home with a win of $261 !!
